Learning Faithfully Enroll at BCA

Your qualified, Christ-loving teachers will know you and care about you.  They will push you to grow and support you when you struggle.

What are some of the key reasons families choose to enroll at BCA?

Learning that goes above and beyond

Our innovative program is challenging and compelling. Students encounter critical core content—and go above and beyond with opportunities for authentic service leadership and project-based learning. As a dual-accredited institution, we align our college-preparatory curriculum with state educational standards and then provide more—like Spanish language classes for all K–12 students—to prepare them for a changing, globally interconnected future.

A passion for teaching and learning

With steadfast dedication, our exceptional teachers help each student to learn in ways that are personal and meaningful. With remarkable passion, skill and dedication, they respond to individual student needs, at all levels. They’re role models and respected leaders with a love of truth and a thirst for learning. They serve to guide, spark, inspire and challenge students to explore new ideas and perspectives, to delight in discovering their strengths and accomplishing great work.

A close-knit community

Come visit and you’ll feel the difference first-hand. There’s a special warmth about the place that’s palpable…a sense that this is a school with soul. A culture of kindness permeates the campus—at recess, during lunchtime, in sports and after-school activities.

Faculty, staff, students and parents work closely together to create a fun, supportive, tight-knit community united by love of learning and core Christian values and beliefs.

An ideal school model

Our K–12 structure is one of our greatest strengths. Teachers truly get to know every child in the school and follow them as they mature through the years. An optimal environment for social/emotional development as well as academic achievement, the K–12 school model ensures a continuum of learning and support. Older students develop leadership skills by serving as role models and mentors. Younger students look forward to their time to shine!

A sense of identity and calling

A BCA education is about core knowledge and core beliefs. It is about family and friendships, about faith in God that grows ever deeper and more vibrant. Students leave here forever marked with the skills, values, and sensibilities to lead lives of purpose. Poised, equipped, and confident, they emerge with a remarkable sense of self-knowledge and a passion for serving the Lord with the gifts they have been given.

Affording a BCA Education

Thank you for considering a BCA education for your child! Selecting a school is a big decision, and a college-preparatory private education represents a significant investment in your child. It may well be within your family’s reach, though!

Students from a wide variety of economic backgrounds experience a transformative BCA education, thanks to our remarkably robust program of tuition assistance. In fact, over half our students are supported in part by BCA tuition assistance.

Considering a BCA education but not sure if you can afford it? We can provide a customized tuition package based on various financial factors. If you qualify for tuition assistance, we make every effort to maintain your award each year, as long as your demonstrated need remains the same.

Financial Aid

During the 2021/2022 school year, BCA gave away more than $350,000 in tuition support. More than 50% of our students receive scholarships and financial aid to reduce the cost of tuition. Tuition support is available from a variety of sources, including individual church subsidies and the Rhode Island Corporate Tax Credit Program

New families can qualify for a scholarship covering up to 20% of tuition.  If awarded the maximum scholarship, the minimum tuition rates for 2022/2023 are:

  • $6,720 for Elementary ($560/month)
  • $8,800 for Middle School ($734/month)
  • $10,800 for High School ($900/month)

BCA uses FACTS as an independent party to evaluate financial need on a consistent basis across all families.  A completed application requires a copy of your most recent tax return and an application fee (charged by FACTS, not BCA).

Our Admissions Process

Our application and admissions process is designed to give us an opportunity to get to know your student and for you to determine whether BCA is the right school.  This is a very personalized process and varies slightly, depending on the age of your student.  Decision letters will be mailed out through a rolling admissions process (once your application is complete and has been reviewed by the Admissions Team).

Due to the generous support of donors, we do not charge an application fee for any family considering a BCA education.

About Standardized Tests at BCA

Barrington Christian Academy focuses on the growth of each student and uses MAP Growth assessments to measure what students know and are ready to lear—to help teachers plan and differentiate with each unique learner in mind.  MAP Growth tests are unique in that they adapt to your student’s level of learning. If your student answers a question correctly, the next question is more challenging. If they answer incorrectly, the next one is easier, which results in a detailed picture of what your student knows and, more importantly, what your student is ready to learn—whether it is on, above, or below their grade level.

MAP Screening for Early Learners:  This readiness tool assesses foundational skills of new kindergarteners and those entering first grade in reading and math.  Each subject has 32 to 34 questions (about 30 minutes each) and is given at BCA on an iPad (bring headphones).

MAP Screening:  Similar to the version for Early Learners, this readiness tool assesses developing skills in reading, language, and math for those in grades 2 and above.  Each subject has 19 to 20 questions (about 20 minutes each) and is given at BCA on a Chromebook.

PSAT/SAT: All students in grades 9-11 take the PSAT each fall, with students taking the SAT in the spring of 11th or fall of 12th grade.  Students in Middle School are also able to take these exams onsite at BCA (upon request).

Barrington Christian Academy admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of its education policies, admissions policies, tuition assistance programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
